Design Features

The overall layout is classical.
Armament is a smoothbore gun stabilized in two planes (the sight field is stabilized), a monocular range finder.
Defense – similar to the T-64 tank; the body is enlarged by 70 mm in length in comparison with the T-64 tank; reduced the thickness of armor side plates in the area of the engine-transmission compartment by 10 mm.
Chassis-engine two-stroke five-cylinder; a two-shaft liquid-cooled diesel engine, opposite with a horizontal arrangement of cylinders and a supercharger with a mechanical and gas-turbine drive; transmission mechanical, gearbox planetary, with functional inclusion, interlocked with single-row side gears.
