Soviet medium tank Т-54А

It was developed in 1950. It was produced serially from 1951 to 1952. It was in service with the Soviet Army, the armies of the Warsaw Treaty countries and a number of developing states. Used in many regional conflicts.

Design Features

Base – tank T-54.
The overall layout is classical.

Armament – rifled gun with an ejection device for blowing the barrel bore; the turret guidance drive is electric; stabilizer (in the vertical plane) – electrohydraulic.

Protection – the tower is cast, large without back slopes and with improved compaction of the epaulet (base) of the turret.

Chassis – engine 12-cylinder, four-stroke, V-shaped liquid-cooled diesel engine; a two-stage air cleaner with three cassettes and an ejection suction of dust; the chassis is similar to the T-54 tank.
