Relic hunting of armored vehicles in Russia. Researching.

One day of the armored vehicle research. October 20, 2004, 4 hours from Moscow. The field testing of the metal detectors.

Russia, North-West. The tank WWII battlefields.

A month ago at this place the German WWII tank T-III front armory part was founded. Our goal is to check for the tank body. In advance we made the trench 7X7X3 meters by the excavator. We lost time in the way and come at the battlefield too late.

We have the pneumatic boat (rent for Russian local hard currency = a bottle of Vodka)

The indicator is too dark. I found in my pocket the small "MAG- LITE" flashlight and operator checks the grade.

Russian Magnetometer. General view. Russian magnetometer is really too heavy, but we have no choice

Detector shows the same level like outside. No tank here.

GPS

We drive the car from the battlefield to Moscow. The night.

We use GPS III Plus system to find the right road.

GPS

The monitor of GPS system displays us our location.

For our security we use "Kalashnikov" rifle "Saiga 410".

In the way, we visited our friend, the local relic hunter. A Cup of tea and the stories about his private museum.

All questions about the details send to Michael Blinov at army1@nm.ru

Please, do not send us any proposal about the WWII vehicle sale/ trade (the export from Russian Federation is illegal)

THE PLACE FOR THE BANNER (50$/month) Details..

(*) Many Russian and western relic hunters ask our adventure team about the recommendations for metal detectors: sensibilities, reliability etc. During all our expeditions we test all kind of our metal detectors (Russian military and Western). The report of 2004 will be done soon. See also our adventure team pages at
