The armored car was developed in 1931. It was mass-produced since 1931. It was in service with the Red Army. Used in battles with Japanese militarists in the Far East.

Design features

The base is the “Ford Timken” chassis.

General layout – classic car; the engine is located in front. Armament – the Hotchkiss cannon and the machine gun have shoulder stops for aiming vertically, the tower is rotated using the arrow.

Protection – the body is riveted, from armored rolled sheets, the tower is borrowed from the light tank MS-1.

Chassis – carbureted engine, four-cylinder, liquid cooling; mechanical transmission, consisting of a single-disk clutch, a four-speed gearbox with a multiplier, cardan shafts and two differentials with the main gears of the “worm” type.

Since 2015 BA-27 armored car war bordered by the glass. Exhibition had also the mannequin with black pre- and WW2 service uniform, but after 2017 moved to Patriot park VKS area.
